Beth Richardson

Pilates Trainer

Beth Richardson Pilates Reformer classes MinneapolisBeth has been teaching private Pilates and group reformer classes at the studio since early 2008 after 25 years as a personal trainer and physical therapy assistant. Beth earned the comprehensive Peak Pilates certification which includes levels through advanced on all apparatus in addition to Gyrotonics full certification. She has personally experienced neck pain and subsequent fused vertabra and has help numerous clients through neck and back trouble in addition to shoulder, foot, hip and knee trouble. Beth practices Pilates in a very therapeutic manner with a special personal touch.

Sara Sherva

Pilates Trainer

Sara Sherva Pilates Reformer Instructor in MinneapolisSara is a Pilates trainer at Studio TimeOut. She is Intermediate STOTT certified in Pilates mat and reformer, and also trained for injuries and special populations. Her training is ongoing. Sara strongly believes health is a conscious lifestyle choice necessary for longevity and happiness, and that movement is the blueprint for how we interface with the world. She loves helping clients at all fitness levels move, strengthen, get in shape, and feel good in an intelligent, healthful, and body positive way. She has a BS degree in Health and Wellness with a focus in Spirituality and Healing. Sara is an herbalist, and has taught classes, led plant walks, and has her own line of herbal tonics and elixirs.

Alex Graeber

Pilates Trainer

pilates instructor minneapolisAlex is a Pilates Instructor at Studio TimeOut. Alex found Pilates after she finished her Personal Training certification, and instantly knew she found her passion. She currently holds her Level 1 comprehensive Mat/ Reformer certificate through Peak Pilates and completed her training with STOTT Pilates. She believes that her knowledge of Pilates will continue to grow with her practice. In addition to teaching Pilates she enjoys waterskiing, hiking, snowboarding, and cross country skiing.

Michala Martinez

Pilates Trainer

Michala is a Private Pilates Trainer at the Studio. She is a Level 2 STOTT Certified Pilates instructor, and an Aircat Aerial instructor. She never wants to stop learning, and continues to attend Pilates workshops and is interested in the Egoscue Method. Michala holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Minnesota and is still active in the dance community through her performances with Threads Dance Project (founding member) and Alternative Motion Project, along with Production Managing Ananya Dance Theatre.

Nicole Jones Dickson

Nicole Jones Dickson Pilates classes MinneapolisNicole is a Pilates Trainer at the Studio.  You can find her in the Pilates Apparatus studio teaching Privates, Duets, Reformer and Tower Classes, as well as Pilates Mat. She came to the Pilates method through a professional dance career and immediately felt at home in the practice. Nicole holds a Comprehensive Pilates Trainer Certification from Core Pilates NYC and continues her studies here in MN. Being a mover since birth she has traveled the world teaching dance and performing.  She holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Oklahoma City University. Nicole recently completed six years as a Radio City Rockette and is excited to call Minneapolis home once again.

Brenna Marlin

Pilates Trainer

You’ll find Brenna in the Pilates studio at Studio TimeOut. She has been an active and creative person her whole life. From her childhood basketball career to her current profession as a modern dancer and Pilates instructor, she has always enjoyed movement of all different forms. What first drew her to Pilates was its specificity and the concentration it requires. Brenna has experience working with Alexander Technique as well as other somatic practices which she likes to incorporate in her approach to teaching. She is currently working on her Balanced Body Pilates certification and holds a BFA in dance performance and choreography from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Since moving to Minneapolis in 2015, Brenna has danced with ARENA dances and is a current company member of Threads Dance Project.

Maddy Overby

Pilates Trainer

maddy overby pilates classes in minneapolisMaddy is a Pilates Instructor at StudioTimeOut. She grew up dancing competitively at Northern Force Dance Company and studied at the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Arts (SPCPA). In 2011, she moved to Los Angeles to study dance at Loyola Marymount University. Maddy began taking Pilates at LMU to compliment her dance training, and quickly realized it was something she wanted to pursue more seriously. She completed the BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training Course with Dance Specialization, a program that combined both of her skill sets. She thinks one of the greatest ways you can benefit yourself is to learn and understand the way your body works, and Pilates is a great resource for accomplishing this. Maddy graduated from LMU in 2015 with a B.A. in Dance and is thrilled to be settled back in her hometown. Along with Pilates and dance, Maddy enjoys running, yoga, photography, and attending as many live music performances as she possibly can.

Heidi Folkerds

Pilates Trainer & Instructor

Heidi teaches Pilates, Insanity Live, and Yoga at the studio. She earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology/Health Exercise Science from Gustavus Adolphus College and has been teaching group fitness  exercise classes since 2009. Heidi started doing Pilates and Yoga when she was 14 years old to help with back and hip pain. “Ever since I learned to live pain free I have been hooked”. She’s passionate about helping others become stronger, healthier and pain free. Heidi is currently completing her comprehensive Pilates certification with Balanced Body.

Kendra McMillan

Director of Pilates

Kendra is the Director of Pilates and a group fitness instructor at the studio. She has been teaching group fitness since 2010 and currently teaches Barre, Insanity Live, Tabata, Pilates Mat, BollyX, and Zumba, as well as group and private sessions on the reformer. Kendra holds her Group Fitness certification through ACE and her Level 3 Comprehensive Pilates certification from Balanced Body. She also holds a Masters in Musical Theatre from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and can be found performing in the Twin Cities on the Chanhassen Dinner Theater stage.

Lauren Meehan

Lauren Meehan exercise classes in minneapolisLauren is a graduate of NYU’s elite Tisch School of the Arts where she studied drama. A former Broadway dancer and performer, she’s appeared in musicals such as WICKED, Cats, A Chorus Line, Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby, and South Pacific starring Reba McEntire. As a dancer, fitness has always been an important part of her life, and she is thrilled to return to StudioTimeOut to combine her two favorite things, dance and fitness, while teaching Zumba, Barre, Aerial Stretch, Small Ball Release, Insanity Live, and Tabata! When she’s not teaching or performing she enjoys cooking, entertaining, fostering dogs and singing in her husband’s jazz band.

Angela Fox

Angela Fox exercise classes in minneapolisAngela teaches Zumba at the studio. Fitness is a huge passion for Angela that began in her roots of being a performer. In addition to being a group fitness instructor, Angela is a dancer, choreographer, singer, actress, and composer in the Twin Cities area. She also teaches private piano and voice lessons and is a published composer with Alliance Publications, INC.

Meredith Wolf

 Meredith Wolf BODYPUMP Instructor Southwest MinneapolisMeredith has been teaching BODYPUMP at the studio since about 2009, and just graduated with her Master’s degree in Business Communication from the University of St. Thomas. Bicycling is one of her greatest pleasures. Meredith regularly commutes to work by bike, and spends her summers cycling to concerts, social events and movies in the park. She enjoys exploring the great outdoors — preferably on a mountain bike — and also loves to camp, hike and kayak. She has a dream to run a marathon with each of her siblings – one down, two to go! Having graduated college with an English degree, she can easily spend an entire day buried in a good book. Meredith says, “The technologies I’m most thankful for are podcasts and audiobooks because they allows me to maintain an active lifestyle while constantly learning new things”.

Rachel Soffer

rachel soffer exercise classes in minneapolis, MNRachel is an enthusiastic health and fitness leader who loves inspiring people to enjoy exercising body, mind and spirit. She teaches Aerobics With Soul, BollyX, and willPower & grace at the Studio, and is passionate about sharing the joy and healing power of dance and exercise. Rachel earned her B.A. in International Affairs at the American University in Paris, France and The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She earned her J.D. at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, MN and has enjoyed practicing law as a partner at two major Twin Cities law firms. She currently works at a boutique law firm where she advises businesses including those in health & wellness, medical technology, software, sustainable products, and natural foods. Rachel loves yoga, hiking, canoeing, bicycling, skiing, sailing, star-gazing, dancing, world music, travel, tea, and enjoying life with family and friends.

David Schmit

Instructor & Energy Healer

David Schmit exercise classes in minneapolisDavid teaches BODYPUMP at the Studio. He is AFAA certified and has been teaching for 7 years. David spends most of his time running his own business (Designed Energy Savings) he’s had for over 30 years. He is also a competitive ballroom dancer and the husband of Jeanne, the owner of StudioTimeOut. He has been doing energy healing and corrective exercise for over 13 years and has recently started offering his services to studio clients. David is responsible for the beautiful physical aspect of the studio… the lighting, the air control, the mechanicals… anything physical. We would not be here without his expertise.

Shannyn Joy Potter

Shannyn Joy Potter Iyengar Yoga MinneapolisShannyn teaches Iyengar yoga at the studio. She is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor, one of only twenty in the state of Minnesota. It is an international certification and is recognized in 80 countries. She has been practicing yoga since the mid 90’s and teaching since 2011. She recognizes that the asanas, the postures, are only the beginning of yoga. Her teaching is true to the Iyengar methodology with a focus on precision, alignment, and attention to detail with the aid of props. She is grateful for the opportunity to teach and help others find freedom from pain. She sees yoga as a means of transformation with the ability to change the mind, body and spirit in ways that benefit all. She teaches with reverence with the goal of inspiring a continuing practice. Shannyn is also a sculptor and painter living and working in Minneapolis.

Nancy Marcy

nancy marcy yoga classes minneapolisNancy teaches Restorative Yoga at Studio TimeOut. She is a retired public school teacher of physical education, health, and dance. She has been practicing yoga regularly since 2000, and teaching yoga for the past ten years. Nancy has completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training and an additional 300 hours focused on yoga therapy. Nancy says, “Yoga has been very good to me in so many ways. It has kept me strong through a full range of motion, assisted me in getting a good night’s sleep, guided my daily habits of living, helped me weather the emotional storms of life, and ultimately become a spiritual practice.”

Liz Parker

Liz thrives when she can be an encouraging force for others as they work to improve their lives. As someone who has experienced how powerful our physical health can be to our mental health and well-being, she loves to be a support for those who are looking to take control of their health and their lives. She has experience promoting personal growth and actualization as a Socratic facilitator for young adults. Stoic philosophy and the person-centered humanistic approach to psychology strongly influence her outlook and her work. She has taken various group fitness classes, enjoys running and biking, does weight training, and is a fan of HIIT workouts. To her, the positive environment of a studio where everyone’s working on becoming their better selves is one of the best places to be.

Madeline Hewitt, NTC

Instructor, Pilates Trainer, Breathwork Facilitator, & Nutritional Therapy Consultant

Madeline Rosie Hewitt Pilates Classes MinneapolisMadeline teaches Barre, BodyShaping, Aerial and Private Pilates lessons. She started her teaching career at the age of 14, teaching BODYPUMP and BODYJAM. Madeline is ACE Certified in Group Fitness and certified through Aircat Aerial and Peak Pilates. She attended Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Arts (SPCPA) High School in addition to dance training with Ballet Arts Minnesota. She attended the dance program at Cornish College in Seattle. Madeline learned aerial and other apparatus at Circus Juventas and private circus lessons in Seattle. She is the creator of the fabulous sugar, gluten and dairy free triple chocolate desserts, thin mints and cauliflower crust pizza. Madeline has recently become certified as a Shamanic Integrative Breathwork facilitator. She will be directing her time and efforts to putting on weekend Shamanic Integrative Breathwork Retreats for spiritual transformation.

Lucy Noel Hewitt Nutritional Therapy Practitioner MinneapolisLucy is a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and works one on one with nutrition clients. She uses a foundational and scientific approach to nutrition that addresses the balance of a person’s body. Her specialty is diagnostic testing to uncover the underlying root of your health issues, and then using diet, lifestyle, exercise, stress reduction, and supplementation to bring you back to optimal health. Lucy received her BA in Biology from College of St. Catherine, her Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certification through the Nutritional Therapy Association in Seattle, WA, and her Functional Diagnostic Nutrition certification through FDN with Reed Davis. In addition, she earned her Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level II certification from the CHEK Institute. Her warm and welcoming personality creates a comfortable environment, and through diet and lifestyle changes, she helps people reach outstanding health.

Jeanne Marie Schmit, Pharm D

Jeanne Marie Schmit PharmD exercise classes minneapolisJeanne is the owner of Studio TimeOut. She received her doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in 1986. She completed a general residency at United Hospital in St. Paul and a postdoctoral fellowship in geriatrics at HCMC, Minneapolis. She worked in the field for 14 years in the areas of academics, research and managed care before changing her career to fitness in 1999. She has been an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor since 1993 and is certified in Pilates through Physical Mind Institute, Polestar, and Peak Pilates. She started teaching step classes in 1994 and progressed to Pilates, kickboxing, weight training, and Tabata. She is a black belt Nia teacher and has studied the work of Eric Franklin and Pete Egoscue, incorporating those techniques into her classes. Jeanne’s mission is to help people find health and happiness through exercise, diet, and life choices. She believes considering the mind, body and spirit in exercise and all daily activities brings the body toward health and wholeness. Her experience in the medical field has proven invaluable when melding westerm medicine with holistic practices. Her hope is to help many, many people return to health (or achieve for the first time) through healthy eating and lifestyle choices.
